groups Target group: Science communicators, journalists and researchers in the STEM field or in science communication research

Desired outcome

This innovation line promotes projects that advance science communication in the STEM field in Germany by daring to try something new and thinking outside the box. We want to support projects that are interdisciplinary and explore new paths in pioneering work and make them accessible to others, for example through well-established accompanying research and dissemination of the results. We focus thematically on the areas of science journalism, public engagement / social participation, the development and expansion of communication skills among researchers and practice-oriented research into science communication.

Background

Science permeates all of our lives. In order to promote a transparent debate that is accessible to all, the Klaus Tschira Foundation supports science communication by, from and about science. We focus on communicating basic research and the resulting technologies in the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science. We want to improve science communication with the public, the media and decision-makers in German-speaking countries in the long term and network those active within Europe.
