“What did you actually do in your doctoral thesis?” – The answer to this question is the subject of KlarText, the prize for science communication!
The foundation is looking for young researchers who have written a very good doctoral thesis and are keen to explain to a non-scientific audience what they have actually done in their research. And in the form of a generally understandable article or a clear infographic.
All scientists who have written a doctoral thesis in biology, chemistry, computer science, geosciences, mathematics, neurosciences or physics in the last two years are eligible to apply. Anyone who has completed a doctorate in a related field but can assign their work to one of the seven areas is also welcome to apply.
It’s worth taking part!
- The best articles and the best infographic will each be awarded 7,500 euros and published in the magazine “KlarText”.
- The award winners are accepted into the active alumni network of the Klaus Tschira Foundation.
- All applicants have the opportunity to complete an E-learning course on “Comprehensible Writing” or “Fundamentals of Scientific Communication” in advance for optimal preparation.
The KlarText Prize is awarded annually. Researchers who have completed their doctorate in the previous two years are eligible to apply.
