Astronomer Norbert Christlieb talks about stargazing with the naked eye
The starry sky has a lot to offer – and not just with a telescope. Fascinating things can also be observed with the naked eye. The unique Skypole facility at the Landessternwarte on the Königsstuhl makes discovering the stars particularly easy. The facility, made possible by the Klaus Tschira Foundation, was put into operation last fall and has been captivating astro-fans ever since. Astronomy enthusiasts can orientate themselves on a high mast with illuminated markers and assign the planets to the celestial lights. Nils Birschmann talks to Norbert Christlieb from the Heidelberg Center for Astronomy about how this works and about light pollution and exoplanets.
